Glossary
YANL uses consistent terms across the Android app and web viewer.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Reference | The ID for your upload batch. Use it with an access code to open the web viewer. |
| Session | One continuous capture period inside a log file. A single upload may contain multiple sessions. |
| Metric snapshots | Individual readings over time (signal strength, speed, etc.). Shown as charts and tiles. |
| Available until | When your upload will be deleted from YANL servers. See Pricing for retention by plan (7 days for anonymous uploads). |
| Workspace | A page of bento tiles in the app or web replay viewer, e.g. Radio Tech, Wi‑Fi Diagnostics. |
| Tile | One chart or status panel in a workspace, bound to a metric such as RSRP or Wi‑Fi RSSI. |
| Freshness state | Each radio reading carries a freshness state: fresh, stale (not re-confirmed recently), or missing. Charts hide non-fresh values. See Data quality. |
| schema_version | Log format version, written as the first event in each log file. See Log format. Current app builds emit 3. |
Status colours
Numeric metrics use a fixed scale:
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Good (green) | At or better than the good threshold |
| Marginal (amber) | Between good and poor |
| Poor (red) | At or beyond the poor threshold |
Thresholds match the Android app. See Metrics reference for per-metric values.
