Getting started

YANL helps you capture network diagnostics on Android and review them on the web.

1. Capture on Android

1. Open the app. The Overview workspace shows an at-a-glance health verdict for cellular, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Swipe or tap the chips to reach the specialist workspaces.
2. Tap Record in the bottom bar and walk or drive your route. The app samples on a steady 1-second tick: signal, throughput, Wi‑Fi, GPS and more. Sources that update less often carry their freshness with them. See How readings are taken.
3. Drop notes as you go (the Note button appears while recording): “lift lobby”, “tunnel entrance”, “customer’s desk”. Notes are pinned to the exact moment and show up on charts and in the web viewer.
4. Tap Stop, then upload the log (Tools → Upload logs to web). You’ll receive a Reference ID on success.

2. View on the web

1. Tap View on Web (Early Preview) on the phone. It opens the session straight away, with nothing to type.
2. Scrub the replay. The health strip grades the moment under the cursor, and the Issues and notes panel lists every warning, error, and note. Click one to jump straight to it.

On another machine, go to app.yanl.net  and enter the Reference and access code shown on the phone after upload, or sign in if you saved the session to your account.

3. Share it (optional)

Sessions are private by default, and the web address on its own does not let anyone in. To send one to a colleague, open it and press Share: you get a view-only link that hides precise location and Wi-Fi names unless you choose otherwise. See Sharing a session.

4. Keep it longer (optional)

Anonymous uploads are available on the web for 7 days, then deleted.

Sign in on the web to save sessions to your account for longer: 30 days on the free plan, a year on Pro. See Pricing and Accounts.

What you will see

Default workspaces mirror the Android app:

• Overview: health verdict, graded signal and quality, speeds, recent events
• Network: cellular signal detail, serving cell, neighbours, events
• Wi‑Fi Diagnostics, Data Traffic & Speeds (including iPerf3), Bluetooth Diagnostics, Hardware Sensors, Device & SIM Info, GPS Data
